Looking Forward to Our Shared Futures
As we mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, questions of history, memory, and civic identity are at the forefront of sociopolitical debate. At the same time, society faces an increasingly uncertain future driven by economic instability, political polarization, and the rapid emergence of technologies like AI.
In light of these dynamics, the Georgia Sociological Association invites submissions that align with this year's theme: “Reflecting on Our Shared Histories, Looking Forward to Our Shared Futures.” We especially encourage sociological work that reflects on the shared (and often forgotten) historical legacies of our diverse nation and state, as well as proposals that imagine more equitable, sustainable futures.
We also welcome general sociological submissions across the full breadth of the discipline and adjacent fields. Accepted formats include:
• Individual Paper Presentations
• Formal Panels
• Interactive Workshops

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Decatur Downtown/Emory 130 Clairemont Ave, Decatur, GA 30030 for conference attendees at a special group rate of $172.00 per night (plus applicable taxes and fees).
